Library Cum Reading Room
Library of Rao Lal Singh College of Education was established in the year 1974. It aims at providing information and knowledge through it’s rich resources, promoting and encouraging reading habits specially among pupils teachers & teacher educators. It is easily accessible to everyone and provides a quite and serene atmosphere for serious study as well as reading for leisure. It has reading room with a seating capacity of 60 persons.
The Library remains open on all working days between 09 A.M to 04 P.M. It remains closed on Sunday and all general public holidays.
REFERENCE SECTION:-
There are three thousand and seven hundred reference books in the library. Reference books cover Encyclopedia, proceedings, Education Code, Dictionaries, Atlases, Almanses, University Calendar, Reports Educational surveys etc. Reference books, rare books, periodicals and expensive books will bot be issued but kept a part in the reference section for consultation inside the library only.
STACK ROOM:-
The library is well stacked with over 25000 (25 Thousand) books dealing with almost all the Subjects on Education.
USERS’ SERVICE:-
There is Reprographics (Xerox) service for library user. Efforts are on for fully computerization of library, internet services for users. Also, efforts are on for special collection for separate Rare Books Section, Research Section and Educated Unemployed Youth Section and on line Research Journals. Four books at a time will be issued to each M.Ed. Students and two books for B.Ed. Student against his / her Library Tickets for a period of 15 days Books issued on tickets can be renewed or returned on or before the expiry of the due date. A book once issued can be renewed for another 15 days for two consecutive times, after which it should be returned to the library without delay. Renewal of books on library tickets will however, be allowed only if there is no urgent demand for those books. Overdue fine of one per book per day will be charged for late return. For staff members, the library provides 25 books in an academic year. Special provisions are for their providing books for a year to merit holders, handicapped, belonging to poor families, sports persons & cultural activities students.
